We're always looking for ways to make Queen B candles more affordable (without compromising our integrity) and have finally found a way... you get to buy bulk beeswax tealight, church, votive and taper candles at a discount and we get to save a little on labour by packing bigger orders.

It's time to populate or perish at Queen B! We could well and truly double our output here at the hive without an increase in fixed overheads. Our biggest obstacles?

1. Education - unfortunately a large majority of the population don't realise that paraffin, soy and palm wax candles are toxic to burn and environmentally damaging.

2. Price - while Queen B is run on the smell of an oily rag and with a team of extraordinarily generous volunteers (including my parents!), there is simply no way of getting the price of Australian beeswax down and nor is there a way of (legally) getting cheaper labour in Australia.

What we can do is work smarter. Given the sunk cost of processing an order, making up a box and entering a parcel in eParcel, it is cheaper for us to pack larger orders than smaller orders. So, if you order large, we're happy to pass on the savings to you. We'll ultimately benefit by being able to light up more lives or light up the the same lives a little more!
