The New York skyline (one of the architect’s favourite cities) is carefully unpacked and assembled across the restaurant table. He is in love, the people at the table next to us are besotted, the waitstaff and manager of restaurant comment. I write down the where/how to buy so my friend doesn’t hear and can’t do the sneaky research. There are pictures that show a stressed man suddenly transformed into a boy so overjoyed at what Santa has left under the Christmas tree. But if I posted pics I’d be in trouble.
