Due to the width of this candle, it needs to be burned for a minimum of 2 hours each time it’s lit.
All candles, pure beeswax or toxic, need to be burned until the pool of wax reaches the outside edge! It’s an immutable law of physics. This is a requirement every(ish) time you light your candle.
As beeswax is extremely forgiving, if you blow them out sooner on occasion the candle should be able to play catch up.
There is no need with a beeswax candle to put it out once it reaches the outside edge, it should just continue to burn beautifully, without dripping, emitting a light honey aroma and a gorgeous warm ambience.
Every Queen B candle is made with 100% pure Australian beeswax plus a pure cotton wick. Nothing else. No fillers. No fragrances. No soy, palm or paraffin wax… just the purest beeswax in the world. There are many benefits of this approach:
Spencer Cocoa Chocolate (Dark) - 100g
Regular price $12.00 Save $-12.00Many months ago a customer sent us a couple of blocks of Spencer Cocoa chocolate. Chocolate always calls for a stop work meeting and so it was that we were introduced to the incredible taste of Spencer Cocoa chocolate. Not only is the chocolate extraordinary, but we all loved the packaging, chocolate mould and story so much that I called the maker to compliment him and ended up ordering a few cases. This is our chocolate of choice for hampers, snacking on and tastings in store
Tasting Notes:
Flavours of tropical fruits, tobacco, toffee, caramel and malt. Well balanced bitterness, sweetness and tartness. Aromatic hints of rosewood, coffee and cherry.
"Excellent product. Intense nose with smoke and whiskey notes... caramel and treacle flavours. Well rounded and balanced". Australian Food Awards 2016
Ingredients: Roasted cocoa beans, cocoa butter, Bundaberg raw sugar.

Cleaning: Rinse between uses in lukewarm water with a mild dish soap (like sunlight soap).

Miellerie Honey
Regular price $17.00 Save $-17.00Miellerie honey hails from the Tasmania wilderness where Frenchman, Yves Ginat, marries the french technique of soft setting honey with the extraordinary flower nectars of Tasmania.
Miellerie honey is unprocessed and unheated, thus maintaining the honey's optimum natural aroma, health qualities, and characteristic crystals. Each of the honeys in the Miellerie range are soft set, with a smooth, velvety texture that melts literally in your mouth (or on your sourdough crumpet)!
As an apiarist, Yves nurtures his bee community using organic and biodynamic beekeeping practices to maintain health and harmony from the hive to the jar. Essential to the integrity of Miellerie is their trade practice of cold extraction of the honey from the comb to harness the vitality, aroma, flavour, colour and texture of the exquisite nectars from the pristine Tasmanian forests.
If you love the caramel created when you boil a can of Condensed Milk, you'll go wild for Blue Gum honey. It's nature's version of caramel.
Leatherwood honey is quite simply an absolute taste sensation. A leatherwood tree has to be over 80 years old before it yields any blossoms and quite frankly you can taste that ancient wisdom in the honey. I tell our customers that visit Queen B that Leatherwood honey is "like being punched in the mouth with a bunch of flowers"... it is incredibly aromatic and floral and will be like nothing else you've ever tasted. Leatherwood honey is amazing to use where it's floral nature can be hero'ed... like dressings, savoury marinades or cakes/biscuits with only a few ingredients.
From late October to early January Lake Pedder yields the bees their favourite wild flower nectars (Banksia, Tea Tree, Button grass, Melaleuca, Peppermint) from the heart of Tasmania’s world heritage listed forests. If you love strong flavoured and manuka honey's, you'll love Lake Pedder's Nectar.
Banksia Scent Pod
Regular price $17.95 Save $-17.95This Australian Made Banksia scent pod is made from the native Banksia Grandis seed pod.
Being a particularly porous material, it can be filled with a few drops of essential oil which soaks through the pod and can be used to fragrance a small room (perfect in a bathroom!) or to keep wollens moth-free.
As beautiful as they are functional, each Aroma Pod has a combination of rough edges (the outside of the seed pod), holes where the seeds once were and a red velvety fur... you will never find two the same.
Treated with eucalyptus oil for transport, you can change the aroma by adding your own favourite oil. Wait for the Eucalyptus to completely dissipate and add whatever you choose.
Note: as the pods are porous, the oil will soak through... so keep your aroma pod on a non-porous surface (glass, glazed tile etc... or banksia coaster)
Each native Banksia scent pot measures approximately 6cm W x 6cm H

Expertise - we've got 20 years of skin in the game. That's tens of thousands of hours of expertise working with beeswax. Owner, Cate Burton, is the beeswax judge for the National Honey Show and is an acknowledged global expert in beeswax.
Made by Us and Made by Hand - we're control freaks at Queen B. We hand make every single candle and wrap we sell in our purpose fitout hive here on Sydney's Northern Beaches.
The next 2 largest brands in Australia outsource everything - their fabric is imported and sent directly to another company who wax it and sent to another for cutting and packing. How on earth can you guarantee the quality of your product if you don't even make it?
And then there are literally hundreds (if not thousands) of wraps made in a home garage or kitchen. Are you really going to risk wrapping your food in that?
Fabrics - From our beautiful ranges Made with Liberty Fabrics to our collaboration with Jocelyn Proust, we promise to bring you an ever fashionable range of wraps with which to adorn your fridge and lunch box! We're bringing the stylish to sustainable.
Usability - before we launch any product at Queen B we ask ourselves whether the world needs our version of that product?
In the case of beeswax candles it was a resounding yes as beeswax candles had stopped being made professionally many decades prior due to the price of beeswax. All the beeswax candles we came across looked dirty, didn't burn properly and were inconsistent.
In the case of beeswax lip balm, the answer was no... there are already great products on the market that we use ourselves.
In the case of beeswax wraps the answer was again a resounding YES! All of the wraps on the market that we tested were either too brittle (so you couldn't get a seal with the warmth of your hands); had too much beeswax in the mix (causing them to crack when unwrapping things straight out of the fridge) and/or were just downright ugly. The world most definitely needed wraps that were fit for purpose... malleable, easy to seal, not too tacky, not too dry, not too stiff and most definitely not ugly!
Proprietary Methods - Our methods of cleaning beeswax (using only water, filtration and time) are proprietary and carefully guarded. Our decades of working with beeswax have also taught us exactly how to respect and work with this extraordinary material and our hive dedicates almost 500 square metres to this pursuit.
Queen B is no backyard or kitchen table business... we take our commitment to your health and wellbeing seriously and hand make products with that in mind!
Should you ever be anything other than completely delighted with anything that you purchase from Queen B, please contact us pronto... we are not a nameless, faceless business with a call centre overseas - we're a passionate bunch of humans trying our darndest to make a difference.

.. so that you can fire it up immediately and enjoy the luxury of bee created light.
Every Queen B candle is hand made in Sydney, Australia from 100% pure Australian bees wax and a pure cotton wick.
Due to the narrow width of these candles they have no minimum burn time. You can burn them for as long or as short a period as you would like.
All candles, pure beeswax or toxic, need to be burned until the pool of wax reaches the outside edge! It’s an immutable law of physics. This is a requirement every (ish) time you light your candle.
There is no need with a beeswax candle to put it out once it reaches the outside edge, it should just continue to burn beautifully, without dripping, emitting a light honey aroma and a gorgeous warm ambience.
If you’re looking for candles for yoga, meditation, a relaxing bath, kids dinner, bedtime story or any activity that goes for less than a couple of hours, these are the candles for you.
ANY taper will drip in a breeze – be it beeswax, paraffin or even the chemically hardened petrochemical ‘non-drip’ taper candles. Having said that a beeswax candle is the least likely to drip due to its high melting point.
If you want to make sure your Dinner Taper or Bee Light candles don’t drip, keep them out of any breeze or air movement. If the flame is dancing, then the air around the wick is moving and the candles will drip. Sometimes all you may need to do is move your candle 10cm to the left or right and that will fix the problem
If your table is in the centre of a breezy room, you may just need to think of candles like plants… some plants like full sun and some like shade. If you don’t want to waste your money, then observe this! Likewise, some candles cope with a breeze (Tealights, Round Votives, Solid Pillars) and others don’t (Yapers & Bee Lights), so choose the right candle/s for the right location.
You would be hard pressed to find any metal candleholders made commercially in Australia these days…. Let alone candleholders of our quality made from solid brass or copper.
We are focused at Queen B of making a difference in everything we do and supporting other Australian crafts people practice their ancient skills of metal bending and mental turning is something that we are incredibly proud to do. We celebrate their skills.
