Unveiling the Queen B Christmas Tree

Unveiling the Queen B Christmas Tree

OK, so I know that tradition means you only put up your Christmas tree at home in the first week of December, but that doesn't really work in retail! So we got our tree decorated last week.

We never really had a Christmas tree when I was growing up because mum and dad ran a small business and so we always went away over Christmas because that was the only break they could get. . Anyway, it is really lovely to create my own tree and because I work a bajillion hours a day and about 8 days a week, I actually get to enjoy it much more than I would one at home! Most of these goodies are only available at the Queen B factory, but I couldn't resist sharing.

It wasn't feeling very Christmassy yet this year until we put our tree up. And while things are quieter than usual I can feel in my bones that this year, yes this year, everyone is going to wake up and decide that they will only buy Australian made goods. They will only do their gift shopping in small retailers. They will go the extra mile to help pull this economy out of the doldrums. Goodness knows we can't wait around for the government to do anything about it. Speaking of which if anyone out there knows anyone useful, could you please point out to them that in China every government contract requires a minimum of 80% of the inputs come from China. It's all well and good for Kev and Jules to lord it up on the world stage, but at the moment in Australia there is a 0% Australian content requirement and we are losing our expertise and losing businesses daily as a result. Please also point out to them that it is not possible for an Australian or Australian business (or anyone else for that matter) to buy land in China whereas in Australia we are literally selling them the farm. If Kev and Jules admire China so much, perhaps they should do more to emulate them (in these ways only please). Oh, that post went a little pear shaped!... I was talking about Christmas and the grinch came out. Let's rally together and support one another people.
